This impressive Edwardian hotel with its whitewashed facade and distinctive gabled terracotta roof is renowned throughout the world and enjoys views over to the Isle of Arran, the Mull of Kintyre, and also Ailsa Craig. The hotel boasts two championship golf courses, Kintyre and Ailsa, which has hosted the Open Championship on several occasions. New for 2001 is the excellent Colin Montgomerie Golf Academy and accommodation in the new lodges. The hotel's leisure complex is reputed to be one of the best in Europe.
