Kiawah Island Golf Resort

Kiawah Island, SC

Arriving at Kiawah Island, you will find ten miles of pristine beach ranked as one of America's top ten by the Travel Channel. This spectacular barrier island, located just 20 miles from Charleston, South Carolina, offers a wide variety of accommodation options. You can choose from the spacious 255-room oceanfront, The Sanctuary, or one of the many villas and homes located throughout Kiawah's beautiful surroundings. Wherever you decide to stay, it will carry AAA's four diamond rating.

Now that you've settled in it's time for some great golf. Get ready. You are going to be teeing up on the works of the masters of modern day golf architecture - Pete Dye, Tom Fazio, Clyde Johnston, Gary Player and Jack Nicklaus. Designed by Pete Dye and opened in 1991, the Ocean Course gained instant notoriety as the site of the dramatic "War by the Shore", the 1991 Ryder Cup Matches which were decided by the final putt of Sunday's final match. The course again took center stage as host of the World Golf Championships in 2003 and the Senior PGA Championship in 2007. Osprey Point, Turtle Point, Cougar Point and Oak Point each offers its own unique challenge which keeps golf lovers coming back over and over again.

When visiting Kiawah Island you are going to want to take a day trip to historic Charleston. Just 20 minutes away, you will be given an opportunity to step back in time. Charleston is a port city steeped in history and barely changed since it's founding in 1670, when it was the cultural capital of the New World.
