The most talked about new course in Scotland, located near Inverness, opened in late 2009, and was immediately called “the best new course in the world” by a Golf Magazine representative. The same American owner who developed Kingsbarns, Mark Parsinen, created this links with Gil Hanse and the result is sensational! Castle Stuart is a true championship links course overlooking the Moray Firth, with views of Inverness, Kessock bridge and Chanonry Lighthouse. Even though it is new, many already think it is among the top 5 courses in all of Scotland … yes it is that good! The course is open and forgiving off the tee but then requires very demanding approach shots. It looks like it has been there 100 years, and is occasional host of the annual Scottish Open, won in 2013 by Phil Mickelson the week before his Open Championship victory at Muirfield. This course is ranked #69 in The 2015 Golf Magazine World Top 100.
