Be prepared for blind shots, stone walls across some fairways and classic old-fashioned golf. Home of the original Redan Hole, this course is often ranked in the top three of any Scotland golf tour – a real classic. The West Course (ranked #63 in the world by Golf Magazine in 2015)is no monster in length, but such is its trickery, that it demands a full repertoire of shots from even the most accomplished golfer. Every hole here is memorable -- in fact, two of them, the 382 yard 14th named "perfection", and the 192 yard 15th called “Redan”, have been copied at courses the world over. The Redan Hole is in fact the most copied par 3 in golf with versions of it all around the world. There are blind shots, drives over walls and burns, shots across the bay and bunkers from which you can disappear from view. So this is how golf used to be played, and today it is an enjoyable experience, great fun and a real test of skill that will leave you with the feeling of wanting to come back and play again. At the conclusion of most golf trips, this course is consistently mentioned among the top 3 of any Scotland golf itinerary, because it is just so memorable!
