Medoc GC Les Vignes Opened in 1991 by Rod Whitman, GC Medoc Les Vignes is part of the most highly lauded 36 hole club in France and winds through beautiful pine trees in the historic wine area just a few miles northwest of Bordeaux not far from Margaux. Normally in excellent condition, Les Vignes (par 71) is easy to walk although we have included carts. Interestingly, the tee markers are wine bottles of local producers, which give it a uniquely wine themed golf course. The long par 5 holes are pretty demanding, yet the par 3’s are reasonable yet challenging too. Best of all, when you finish your round on the Medoc Les Vignes GC you are nearby some wonderful wine producers known throughout the world. Premier Golf Rating: A-
Grand Saint Emilionnais GC An artist crafted private course located near the village of St Emilion (due east of Bordeaux) and designed by one of the best architects in the world: Tom Doak. Some call it the “Grand Cru” of French golf courses, and that is not a stretch. This exceptional course winds through an oak tree lined valley surrounded by vineyards and located just 6 miles from the village of Saint Emilion. Doak, who also designed such famous courses as Pacific Dunes, Cape Kidnappers, Barnbougle Dunes, Sebonack and Ballyneal, is proud of this course located in an area where land is at a premium, for obvious reasons. Premier Golf Rating: A+
Medoc GC Les Châteaux The Châteaux course was voted Best Golf Course in France in 2014 by the World Golf Awards. Designed by Bill Coore who is now paired with Ben Crenshaw and among the most accomplished designers in golf, the Les Chateaux course is par 71 and can stretch over 7100 yards. It looks and plays like an inland links, similar to the Coore-Crenshaw courses around the globe. The wide fairways are bordered by heather, gorse and broom similar to links in the UK or Ireland. The excellent quality of the greens, the effect of ocean winds and the strategic bunkering this championship course makes it one of the best courses in France. Opened in 1999, it was the site of the French Open in 1999 (European PGA Tour) and each hole is named after a Medoc, Pauillac or Margaux chateau wine producer. Premier Golf Rating: A

Half day guided tour of Bordeaux with Professional Guide – After flying from Paris to Bordeaux, we will start our tour of the ancient city situated on the banks of the Garonne. Bordeaux is France’s 5th largest city and has more than 2000 years of history to share including exceptional architectural heritage and an enviable location near vineyards, forests, the Atlantic Ocean and mountains. The famed stone bridge over the Garonne River, The Pont de Pierre, serves as the center place of Bordeaux and the city spreads out from there in a maze of charming streets and boulevards. A blossoming trading town during the Enlightenment through its maritime activity, Bordeaux today is a paradise for wine. Over the centuries, the most prestigious vintages have passed through here: Petrus, Haut Brion and Chateau Margaux among others. For visitors, the many squares with their sunny terraces and cafe’s are the perfect place to relax. The many restaurants with the superb vintages and wine pairing menus are a delight to the culinary crowd.

Wine Tasting at Chateau Pichon Longueville - It was in the 17th century that Jacques de Pichon, Baron de Longueville, began to put together the vineyard of Pichon-Longueville, between St-Julien and Pauillac. The reputation of this wine was established in a few years and the fame of the domaine equalled that of Latour. Now Grand Cru, this chateau produces some of the most coveted wine in the Bordeaux region and our tour and tasting will be a memory for many years to come.
Wednesday October 3rd
Saint Emilion & Chateau Figeac Wine Tasting Tour with Professional Guide - Visit of the medieval town of Saint-Emilion which since medieval times has perfectly complimented the gorgeous surrounding landscape. Saint-Emilion is a jewel of stones and stands proudly at the top of the hill overlooking the worldwide renowned Saint-Emilion vineyards. Built in the form of an amphitheatre, Saint-Emilion has also a remarkable monolithic church and its Romanesque monuments and vestiges tuck away in the back streets which seem to defy the passage of time. Our tour will include a local expert guide.
Wine tour at Château Figeac - (Premier Grand Cru Classé Saint Emilion) is a very ancient estate, dating back to the 2nd century. The site features a water-supply system dating from the Gallo-Roman period, foundations of buildings from the Middle Ages with defensive walls, and the remains of a Renaissance chateau reflected in the present-day chateau's great door and tower. Figeac continues to be the largest estate in the commune of Saint-Emilion, with almost 100 acres of vineyards located in a small area which is often referred to as "Graves de Saint-Emilion” (same as Cheval Blanc). The main chateau dates from the late 18th century.

Visit to La Cite du Vin Bordeaux - Situated in Bordeaux, La Cité du Vin is a unique cultural facility where wine comes to life through an immersive, sensorial approach, all set within an evocative architectural design. La Cité du Vin gives a different view of wine, across the world, across the ages, across all cultures and all civilisations. In an open exhibition space, nearly twenty different themed areas invite you to take a voyage of discovery and enjoy a unique experience exploring the many and varied facets of wine across time and space. A visit to the permanent tour also includes the travel companion, a free, innovative tool available in eight languages and the access to La Cité du Vin’s Belvedere, where you will discover a 360° view of Bordeaux whilst tasting a glass of world wine (50 ml).
Wine tasting & Dinner at Château du Tertre - The Château du Tertre, Grand Cru Classé Medoc, dominates the vineyard in Margaux with over 120 acres. Cabernet Sauvignon is the major grape variety, endowing the wine with structure and concentration. Renowned for its roundness and suppleness, Merlot then brings its silkiness to the final blending. Cabernet Franc lends its distinctive, rich bouquet of spicy notes. Later in maturity, the Petit Verdot completes this range of aromas. Thus is born the Château du Tertre Grand Vin, reflecting the very soul of this exceptional terroir. A special dinner will accompany these fine wines for a great night!
