White sand beaches, crystal clear waters, and bright blue skies. There’s a lot to like about a golf getaway to the Dominican Republic, discover some highlights to enjoy on your next winter sun trip.
With golf vacations ranging from long weekends at US resorts to multi-stop journeys through Scotland or Ireland, choosing where to go is only part of the decision.
The best golf vacation packages are built around what you want from the trip.
For some golfers, that means finally playing a bucket-list course they’ve watched on television for years. Others may prioritize warm weather, championship venues, traditional links golf, luxury accommodations or the opportunity to combine several different courses within one journey.
Start by considering your non-negotiables.
How much golf do you want to play? Is one famous course the focus of the trip, or would you rather experience an entire golf region? Are you traveling with equally enthusiastic golfers, or does the vacation need to offer plenty away from the course too?
Trip length matters as well. A long weekend can work perfectly for a domestic resort, while an international golf vacation may justify a longer stay to balance several rounds with sightseeing, dining and time to experience the destination.
Answering those questions first makes choosing between the many available golf vacation packages considerably easier.
Premier Golf offers both domestic US and international golf vacations.
A domestic trip can be ideal when time is limited. Destinations across California, Florida, Texas, Arizona and the Carolinas offer championship golf without the additional travel involved in crossing the Atlantic or Pacific.
That makes domestic golf vacation packages particularly attractive for long weekends, winter escapes and groups trying to coordinate travel from different parts of the country.
International travel offers something different.
Scotland and Ireland combine world-famous links with golfing history and local culture, while Portugal and Spain offer championship golf alongside warmer European conditions. The Caribbean can pair golf with a luxury resort vacation, while destinations such as Australia, New Zealand and South Africa can turn golf into part of a much larger travel experience.
The decision isn’t simply about where the better golf is. It’s about how much of the vacation you want the destination itself to shape.

Another important decision is whether you want to settle into one resort or travel between several courses and destinations.
A Stay and Play vacation provides one consistent base. Depending on the resort, golfers may have several courses, practice facilities, restaurants and leisure amenities close to their accommodation.
For groups prioritizing relaxation and simple logistics, this can be ideal.
A touring golf vacation instead allows you to cover a larger geographical area. A trip through Ireland or Scotland can combine several famous courses and towns within one journey, giving golfers a broader experience of the destination.
Neither approach is universally better. It depends on whether your priority is convenience or exploration.
For golfers who want to know more of their vacation costs before traveling, all-inclusive golf vacation packages can be particularly appealing.
However, “all-inclusive” doesn’t necessarily mean exactly the same thing at every destination.
Depending on the resort and package, inclusions may cover accommodations, scheduled rounds of golf, food, drinks and selected resort amenities. Other elements, such as additional rounds, caddies, carts, premium dining or excursions, may be charged separately.
It’s therefore important to look at the package itself rather than assuming that every element of the trip is unlimited.
Premier Golf offers all-inclusive options both domestically and internationally, including destinations in Florida, Texas, Arizona and Georgia as well as Mexico and the Dominican Republic. Golf included within a Premier Golf package is agreed before booking and detailed within the itinerary.
For the right traveler, this format can make budgeting simpler while combining golf with the wider benefits of a resort vacation.

A memorable golf vacation isn’t created simply by putting several famous courses onto the same itinerary.
The details between those rounds matter. Look for a package that balances:
Course quality and access: Bucket-list golf is only useful if suitable tee times can actually be secured.
Sensible scheduling: The strongest itinerary isn’t necessarily the one containing the most golf. Travel time, tee times and recovery between demanding rounds all affect the experience.
The right accommodations: Location can be just as important as luxury, particularly on touring vacations where reducing daily transfers gives you more time to enjoy the destination.
Reliable transportation: Moving golfers, luggage and clubs requires different planning from an ordinary vacation.
Time away from golf: Restaurants, sightseeing, culture, beaches, spas and other experiences can turn a collection of rounds into a genuine vacation.
Specialist knowledge: Knowing when to travel, which courses work well together and how far ahead tee times need to be secured can make a significant difference.

We recommend having a group of at least 4 golfers, this allows you to fill one slot on the timesheet. There is no limit to the number of guests on a tour, but we suggest trying to achieve multiples of 4 golfers.
Most golf courses will request a handicap certificate for playing guests. Very few have a specific handicap requirement to play, but they may advise which tees you play from, based on your handicap.
This will allow you to play to the most appropriate challenge for your handicap and will ensure you have the most enjoyable round possible.
