There is world-class championship golf across Canada from the Atlantic Maritime provinces in the east to the Pacific Ocean in the west. Two of our favorite areas for a week’s worth of golf and exhilarating scenery are the Rocky Mountains, outside of Calgary and British Columbia, outside of Vancouver.
Premier Golf can offer and arrange exclusive custom golf vacation packages to Canada. Our golf travel specialists are experts on the best Caribbean golf courses and resorts, as well as luxury hotel accommodations and travel spots.
Off course in the Rockies enjoy the magnificent scenery of Banff National Park and Hot Springs. The silted blue waters of Lake Louise and Moraine, Athabasca Glacier and the Columbia Icefield. Jasper National Park, and activities such as white-water rafting, canoeing, hiking, mountain biking, canyoning, and climbing.
Golf will include two Stanley Thompson masterpieces – Jasper Park and Banff Springs. Other great courses include Kananaskis Country Club’s Mount Lorette and Mount Kidd, Brewster’s Kananaskis Ranch, Canmore, Stewart Creek and Silvertip.
Fly into Calgary, a modern city grown from the oil industry, with deep roots in its Wild West cattle heritage. If you’re traveling in July, the Calgary Stampede is a world-renowned 10-day rodeo referred to as ‘the greatest outdoor show on earth’ and worth a day on your way to or from the mountains. Other Calgary attractions include the Heritage Park Historical Museum, The Olympic Plaza from the 1988 Winter Games, Calgary Tower and Big Rock Brewery.
Further West in British Columbia the multi-cultural city of Vancouver is a wonderful starting point for your Pacific Canadian golf adventure. Take a seaplane ride, walk the Capilano Suspension Bridge, explore Stanley Park, take a boat cruise or a walking food tour through one of the many cultural neighborhoods. Vancouver has become the home of the Hallmark movie empire with more than two dozen films being shot at any time.
You’ll experience golf from sea level to mountain heights while playing some of Canada’s best layouts including Fairmont Chateau Whistler, Big Sky, Nicklaus North, Whistler, Olympic View, Fairwinds, Bear Mountain’s Mountain and Valley courses and Furry Creek.
Just an hour and a half outside the city to the north is the Whistler Mountain area with fantastic scenic golf and a myriad of outdoor activities off the course – ziplining, gondola tours, hiking, mountain biking, helicopter tours and fishing.
Going 90 minutes to the west of Vancouver by ferry takes you to Vancouver Island and the city of Victoria, who’s moderate year-round climate influenced by the ocean currents allows you play golf on the island and ski on the mainland in the same week during the winter months. Other off course activities and attractions are Butchart Gardens, afternoon tea at the Fairmont Empress Hotel, whale watching tours, Butterfly Gardens, Howe Sound Fjords and sea caves tours and the Campbell River Grizzly Bear watching tour.
