Located in north-eastern Scotland, Aberdeen is a golfing ‘hidden gem’. It is home to several exceptional links golf courses and is only a short drive from St Andrews. Scotland’s third most populous city is a cultural hub, with an abundance of activities to enjoy and places to visit during a break from teeing off, including sightseeing tours, boat trips and coastal walks.

Aberdeen hosts a plethora of golf courses, including the 18-hole Murcar Links Golf Course, which allows for spectacular views of the North Sea. Cruden Bay is another 18-hole championship course designed by famed golfer, Old Tom Morris. The Moray Golf Club has hosted a number of golf championships. Trump International is a highly acclaimed resort and championship links course, and the Royal Aberdeen Golf Club is recognized as the sixth oldest course in the world.

With Premier Golf, you can experience multiple golf courses in the Aberdeen area as part of our custom trips. We can also recommend the places to visit, the best bars and restaurants, to enjoy some acclaimed ale and whisky, which combine to guarantee an unforgettable experience.

Sample Itinerary

Day 1

  • Drive/Transfer from Edinburgh or Glasgow Airport, arrive in Aberdeen, and check into the Malmaison Hotel.
  • Take a leisurely walk around this city before dinner at the Brasserie.

Day 2

  • Your first day of golf will be spectacular, Cruden Bay Golf Club is an old-style links, formed by the land. Certainly not how a modern-day course architect would design a course, and that is its charm. Similar to St Andrews, it is full of unique features and memorable holes.
  • The welcoming local clubhouse will be required for a post-round debrief, a perfect introduction to Scottish golf.

Day 3

  • Royal Aberdeen Golf Club, on the northern edge of the city, has one of the best front 9’s in all of links golf. The holes weave through the natural dues alongside the shoreline. The coastal setting, with views over the north sea, means the course is susceptible to the elements.
  • Whatever the weather you’ll find this historic course, founded in 1780, a breathtaking and memorable experience.

Day 4

  • Golf at Trump International Golf Links, beautifully set amongst the coastal dunes, this modern interpretation of a classic link’s is a masterpiece. Backed by a beautiful, immaculate clubhouse and service experience, this is an excellent contrast to more traditional locations in the area.

Day 5

  • Check out of the Malmaison and transfer to Inverness, golf at Castle Stuart, Royal Dornoch, Nairn and Brora. Alternatively combine your Highlands tour with the home of golf, St Andrews.
