Comprising of two exceptional layouts, the Links and Heathland, La Hacienda Links Golf Resort is one of the elite 36-hole resorts in Spain. Previously known as Alcaidesa Golf, both courses have undergone substantial renovations, and are now rated among the best in Andalucia.
The Links is the headline act, one of the few courses in the region to run along the coastline. This part-links, part-headland course provides spectacular views over the Mediterranean Sea and the Rock of Gibraltar.
Originally designed by legendary golf commentator and architect Peter Allis and partner Clive Clark, the redesign was completed in 2021 by renowned architect Kurtis Bowman.
His focus was producing a sustainable course, remodeling the tees, greens, and bunkering. The result has taken an already excellent course to the next level, now competing with the very best in Europe.
The Heathland course sits further inland, among the Andalucia hills, with a number of stunning holes carved into the region’s natural ravines and gullies. Providing exceptional elevated views and a connection to nature, the Heathland makes for a worthy 36-hole offering.
A new 5* Fairmont ‘La Hacienda’ hotel is due to open in 2024 and is set to become one of the leading luxury golf destinations in Europe. Facilities will include a range of bars, restaurants, and a private beach. A large pool, spa, and fitness club will complete the offering.
Guests can also choose the exclusive 5* SO/Sotogrande hotel, an elegant and stylish property located nearby, in the Andalucian hills.
Marbella, Spain’s Costa del Sol cultural and nightlife capital, and neighboring Sotogrande have a world-renowned golf scene. Offering a collection of Spain and Europe’s best courses, after golf you can enjoy Marbella’s large stretch of bars, clubs and restaurants, as well as miles of Mediterranean coastline and beaches.
La Hacienda Links is home to two 18-hole courses, called the Links and the Healthland. The Links is considered to be the most famous, as it’s one of the few courses in this region that runs next to the coastline and the Heathland course is based more inland, it boasts beautiful natural ravines and gullies set about the area.
The oldest golf course in La Hacienda Links is called “the Links” which opened in 1992 but was redesigned in 2021 by the renowned architect Kurtis Bowman.
La Hacienda Links has not hosted any top-level international tournaments as of yet, but hosts a local level “torneo” every year.
Caddies are not included on any of the golf courses in La Hacienda Links.
