The Algarve is the coastal region of southern Portugal, best known for its beautiful, dramatic Atlantic coastline and year-round climate. Courses make the most of postcard views of beaches, cliffs, coves, and crystal-clear water, creating unforgettable golfing moments.
The variety and proximity of Algarve golf courses is unrivaled. Quinta do Lago, Vale do Lobo, and Monte Rei are among the best golf courses in the region. The Portuguese Masters tournament is played at the Vilamoura course, which is among the finest vacation spots in the country. Vilamoura itself is an ideal base for a golf trip, hosting great nightlife along its yacht-filled marina surrounded by luxurious hotels. The Vilamoura also hosts the 27-hole Vila Sol Pestana golf course, which has trees and lakes lining its wide fairways.
The Algarve is filled with culture and famous Portuguese cuisine. Why not grab dinner at the highly reviewed Restaurante The Cockerel after a day trip along the unmissable Seven Hanging Valleys hike trail, or after visiting one of the many picturesque beaches that line the Algarve coast?
