Hilton Head Island golf vacations offer a great opportunity to unwind while taking advantage of some excellent play. Located in a quiet corner of South Carolina, the Hilton Head golf courses and resorts deliver a laid-back, vacation atmosphere.
This paradise island has it all, from beaches and ocean views to luxury restaurants and accommodations. A particular favorite is the Sea Pines Resort at Palmetto Dunes which boasts three world-class courses.
This is also when the island hosts the RBC Heritage golf tournament, so it’s worth visiting during this time if you can. Plus, when you’re done golfing, you’re close enough to take a day trip to vibrant Savannah.
Harbour Town Golf Links at Sea Pines Resort is the jewel in the crown of Hilton Head Island. The only PGA Tour venue in South Carolina, it offers true test of golf. Shot making, accuracy, and finesse are required on this Pete Dye design. However, given this course layout is not centered around length, unlike most Tour venues, it provides an equal test for long and short hitters alike.
Iconic par 3’s are what its course is best known for, but the par 4 18th, with the famous red and white striped Harbour Town Lighthouse as the backdrop, is the most recognizable feature of Harbour Town Golf Links.
Sitting mid-island on the shores of the Atlantic, the beautiful Palmetto Dunes resort offers an abundance of facilities including 3 championship golf courses.
The Robert Trent Jones Course was originally opened in 1968, the course was redeveloped in the early 2000’s to become the stunning layout it is today.
Palmetto Dunes is also home to the George Fazio course, rated among America’s Top 100, and the Arthur Hills, another of South Carolina’s top rated.
Hilton Head Island offers a range of great courses, providing the perfect opportunity to enjoy a golf break with a variety of layouts and tests to experience.
