Canadian Rockies Golf Tour

A golf itinerary in the heart of the Canadian Rockies takes you up close and personal to some of the country’s most dramatic scenery.  Courses like Banff Springs play along the valley floor offering a towering backdrop of the mountains, while others like Silvertip are more of a true mountain golf experience with dramatic elevation changes.

6 Night Itinerary

Day 1

  • Fly into Calgary – Transfer to Banff.

  • Afternoon at leisure exploring the town, enjoy the hotel amenities, or play the Banff Springs Tunnel 9-hole course.

  • Overnight in Banff.

Day 2

  • Play Kananaskis Mt Lorette or Mt Kidd Course – or make it a 36-hole day. A local favorite facility, the two courses feature immaculate conditioning, bent grass greens and six sets of tees to accommodate every skill level. Mr Lorette is flatter and more forgiving, whereas Mt Kidd is hillier and tighter off the tee.

  • Overnight in Banff.

Day 3

  • Play Silvertip Resort with its spectacular vistas and “Golf on the Roof on The World,” offering a true mountain golf experience. Apres golf activities may include a Wildlife Tour or White Water Rafting.

  • Overnight in Banff.

Day 4

  • Play Stewart Creek Golf & Country Club, “The Pinnacle of Canada’s Mountain Golf,” is another spectacular championship mountain course.

  • After golf consider walking around Canmore Main Street or Banff for some shopping and the cafe life. Overnight in Banff.

Day 5

  • Play Banff Springs GC designed by Stanley Thompson, the pride of Canadian golf architects (1893-1953), who designed courses across Canada and the world. Two of his most treasured designs and Canada’s most highly rated are at Banff Springs and Jasper Park, both in Alberta.

  • After golf, transfer north to Jasper in afternoon. Overnight Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge.

Day 6

  • Play Jasper Park, the crowning jewel in Stanley Thompson’s portfolio, consistently rated among Canada’s top resort golf courses, which has stood the test of time since opening in 1925. You might find Elk roaming the fairways, or bear, and in either case keep your distance!

  • In the afternoon explore Jasper National Park or relax at the great resort. Overnight Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge.

Day 7

  • Transfer about 5 hours to Calgary.  Along the way you can break up the drive with some awe inspiring sightseeing stops to include some of North America’s most scenic natural sites such as Athabasca Falls, Athabasca Glacier and Skywalk, Columbia Icefields snowcat tour, Lake Louise and Moraine Lake and Johnston Canyon.

  • Catch a late afternoon or evening flight, or overnight in Lake Louise or Calgary for a flight home the next day.

Silvertip

Described as being located on ‘the roof of the world’, Silvertip is a true mountain golf experience. Featuring over 600ft of elevation changes, among the dramatic Canadian Rockies, architect Les Furber produced a golfing test for all levels, in one of the most spectacular settings imaginable.

A short transfer from Banff, Gary Browning’s Stewart Creek layout is one of the most popular in the golfing hub of Cranmore.

As with many layouts in the Canadian Rockies, the scenery is breathtaking, with elevation changes among the greatest tests for golfers.
