Fairmont Mayakoba

The Riviera Maya region in the Yucatan Peninsula has become a hive of activity in recent years, offering everything you’d expect from a Caribbean getaway in Mexico, including world-class golf.

The golfing gem of this region is the Fairmont Mayakoba Resort. Here, you’ll find several championship golf courses set amongst lush greenery and exotic scenery, as well as luxurious amenities and plenty of activities to keep you busy.  Tee off in between the ocean and the jungle as you make your way along Mexico’s most famous course, El Camaleon, designed by Greg Norman.

This Fairmont Mayakoba golf course is simply a masterpiece, with 18 holes designed to test the skill and ability of both amateur and professional players alike.

It’s no wonder we had to include this one in our Cancun golf tour. In addition to expertly crafted courses, the resort is home to a spa, pool, and an abundance of leisure activities, making a Fairmont Mayakoba golf vacation a great choice. Plus, if you’re keen to explore more of Mexico and its vibrant nightlife, Cancun is just a short drive away.

El Camaleón Mayakoba Golf Course

The Greg Norman designed El Camaleón is the mainstay of Mexican golf, and considered to be a golfing masterpiece. Its oceanfront and jungle-lined fairways are among the best in the country. El Camaleón is situated on Playa del Carmen, with unique obstacles including subterranean caves and a crystal-clear lagoon.

18-holes adorn this course, each one presenting its own challenge and level of difficulty, making it appealing to both amateur and professional golfers. El Camaleón is one of the first Mexican golf courses to host a PGA Tournament, which commenced in 2007.
