Neighboring the iconic Valderrama on the Sotogrande estate in Spain’s Costa del Sol, La Reserva is a fantastic addition to a golf tour in the iconic Andalucia region.
A Cabell B. Robinson design, the layout includes the signature wide sweeping fairways and striking white bunkers for which he is known. For those who want a challenge, the back tees measure 7,500 yards, a brutal test for any level of golfer.
The course, which opened in 2003, is elegantly carved into the Andalucian hills. The immaculate playing surfaces are beautifully maintained, with large, quick greens making for a testing day with the short stick.
More open than its sister course Valderamma, we highly recommend groups take a Cart, as the beautiful natural setting of La Reserva also leads to some very long distances between holes, making this course a challenging walk.
A highlight of La Reserva is the Spectacular clubhouse. Perched in an elevated location at the center of the development, the grand structure allows stunning views out over Sotogrande, the Mediterranean Sea, and the Rock of Gibraltar in the distance.
Enjoy a post-round drink on the elegant terrace, and enjoy the exquisite grilled seafood, available from the Clubhouse Restaurants, prepared on an open charcoal grill.
Marbella, Spain’s Costa del Sol cultural and nightlife capital, and neighboring Sotogrande have a world-renowned golf scene. Offering a collection of Spain and Europe’s best courses, after golf you can enjoy Marbella’s large stretch of bars, clubs and restaurants, as well as miles of Mediterranean coastline and beaches.
