Opened in 2003 to rave reviews and an exhibition match between Jack and Gary Player, this Pearl Valley golf course has continued to thrive on the South African golf scene and has played host to the historic South African Open three times. Off the course, you can enjoy an on-site spa, wellness activities, and luxury accommodations.

The course itself is situated on the 500-acre Val de Vie Estate in the Cape Winelands area, offering stunning views and unique play experiences. The brilliant white sand bunkers and verdant fairways contrast sharply with the purple-hued Simonsberg and Drakenstein Mountain Ranges that serve as a backdrop here.

With northwesterly breezes prominent in the winter and south easterly prevailing breezes in the summer, the course offers challenging play all year round. As such, Pearl Valley has an Audubon-certified design mostly level with the four Par 3s and four Par 5s.

The course is known for its strategic bunkering and clever use of water features, including five sparkling lakes and a variety of creeks that transverse the routing. The Par 5 5th has a pesky creek that crosses the fairway no less than three times on the way to the green.

The Val de Vie is considered South Africa’s most secure luxury estate in the Paarl-Franschhoek Valley, the heart of the country’s wine-producing region.
