Golf Travel Update: Delta announces resumption of key European routes

As we emerge from the post-pandemic haze, many US travelers are eyeing dream golf getaways overseas.

In addition to the bucket list trips of Scotland and Ireland, Premier Golf offers golf packages to a wide range of European and Global destinations. With the many operational snags experienced at London Heathrow (LHR) and Schiphol (AMS) in Amsterdam the past few months, having non-stop options (especially for the transatlantic leg) to key European destinations is becoming increasingly important, to ensure your golf clubs arrive at your destination with you. For the markets serviced mainly by Delta Air Lines, there is some good news on the horizon.

The legacy carrier has announced the resumption of routes that have not been serviced in recent history, and some that have been dormant for almost 15 years.

New Destinations

These include non-stop flights from Los Angeles (LAX) to Paris’ Charles de Gaulle (CDG) and London Heathrow. New York’s John F. Kennedy (JFK) to Geneva, Switzerland (GNV), London Gatwick (LGW) and Berlin, Germany, (TXL). They are also adding Dusseldorf (DUS) and Stuttgart (STR), Germany, out of Atlanta (ATL).

Perhaps the biggest one, especially for golfers, will be the 5-time-a-week to Edinburgh (EDI) from Atlanta starting in May 2023. This route hasn’t been serviced by the Atlanta-based carrier since 2007 and opens the gateway to flock to the home of golf in Scotland.

Planning your golf vacation can be tricky, especially if you are not familiar with flight options. While we don’t offer airfare with our packages, our Golf Travel Specialists are well acquainted with the best options and airline routes, so don’t be afraid to ask for our help.
