The New Enhanced Clubhouse at PGA Village

November 30, 2015
Florida

The perfect place to start and end a day of golf is the newly renovated and expanded PGA Golf Club clubhouse at PGA Village in Port St. Lucie, Florida, which is oozing with “wow” factor.
Here are the highlights of the enhanced clubhouse, which debuted in early November:

  • The new design was coordinated by Tom Hoch, an Oklahoma City-based hospitality and clubhouse designer with more than 250 projects to his credit. Other designs by Hoch include Slammer and Squire at World Golf Village (Florida), Dove Mountain (Arizona), The Abaco Club (Bahamas) and TPC Valencia (California).
  • The clubhouse has more than doubled in size, adding another 11,000 square feet inside and 4,000 square feet outside. It now encompasses 20,000 square feet.
  • The main lobby has an impressive gallery, which showcases PGA of America history.
  • Expanded men’s and women’s locker rooms feature new amenities such as a shoe shine station and a locker room attendant.
  • The dining room has been converted into the upscale “The Taplow Pub” (named in honor of retail store magnate Rodman Wannamaker’s business group nickname, which was instrumental in conceiving the idea to form the PGA in 1916). Seating more than 100 people, the room is part British pub, part modern-day sports bar. It has 15 televisions, with individualized programming for each booth. The eclectic menu is dotted with favorites like citrus grilled chicken, homestyle meatloaf and blackened pork ribeye.
  • Additional enhancements include an outdoor covered pavilion, boardroom and wine room that can host private parties and events.
