The Hills Golf Club
7,213 yards / Par 72 Practice Facilities: Full Practice facilities
The Hills was built by Michael Hill, one of New Zealand’s most successful businessmen and opened in 2007 to host the New Zealand Open. Since then it has hosted The PGA Tour Nationwide Tour twice. Set over 500 acres of land across a glacial valley, The Hills is home to an incredible array of flora including native brown top grasses and wild native mountain tussocks. Sculptures crafted by New Zealand artists compliment the natural beauty of the course’s lakes, waterways and wetland areas. Winter snow and frost conditions provide the ideal climate for the finest grasses suited to the modern day game of golf. Sir Bob Charles, New Zealand’s most accomplished golfer, says “The Hills is there for the taking - but golfers beware! Its scenic charm can lull one into a false sense of security, destroying the very concentration needed to avoid disaster. The course is an incredible challenge for the great - and incredibly enjoyable for the not so great!”

Cape Kidnappers Golf Club
7,119 yards / Par 71 Practice Facilities: World class practice range, putting and chipping greens
Take a 5,500 acre piece of oceanfront property in the lush wine country, with dramatic 400-600 foot cliffs, and ask the talented Tom Doak to design a “world class course”. Julian Robertson did just that, and the new course is already ranked top 40 in the world by Golf Magazine. The drive from the gate alone takes almost 20 minutes through some of the most spectacular scenery you will ever see … it’s like Big Sur on steroids! This is one of those rare courses that the challenge of the holes is outstanding, with 5 sets of tees for all players (but hard from any of them!) and only outdistanced by the stunning South Pacific ocean views! Strategically placed along 400 foot cliffs, a shutterbug could spend many rolls of film during just one round of golf! Tough, spectacular and a great accomplishment by Robertson and Doak.

The Kinloch Club
7,363 yards / Par 72 Practice Facilities: Putting green, grass tee driving range, chipping green with bunkers
A Jack Nicklaus Signature Course, The Kinloch Club was once rated the top new International course by Travel & Leisure Golf. Built in the beautiful foothills around Taupo, the course is challenging and stunningly beautiful. Nicklaus learned some natural bunkering techniques and green complex tricks from Tom Doak while designing Sebonack GC on Long Island, and as result it does not look like a typical Nicklaus course. The course has penal bunkers, undulating putting surfaces and some reachable par 5’s and great short par 4’s. Originally designed to be a high end private development, the course now admits visitor golfers from overseas. This is certainly in the top five courses in New Zealand by any measure.

Kauri Cliffs Golf Club
6,510 yards / Par 72 Practice Facilities: Driving range, pitching and chipping area and putting green
Opened in 2000, the course is set on oceanfront cliffs of 4,000 acres of rolling coastal farmland owned by Tiger Funds founder Julian Robertson from the USA. Designed by David Harman, who previously worked for Arnold Palmer, the course uses its majestic views and coastal location to perfection. Many golfers rank the golf experience here in their top 3, and when opened, Kauri Cliffs was quickly rated by Golf Magazine as #49 in the World. Caddies and carts are available (course is somewhat hilly). The best combination is to take a forecaddie for the group who knows the routing and subtleties. You will love this golf course!
