FAQs

US citizens generally need a visa to enter Vietnam, while short tourist visits to Thailand are usually visa-exempt. As the cruise also visits Hong Kong and finishes in Singapore, travellers should check the entry requirements for every destination before departure. Passport validity requirements and arrival procedures vary by country, and cruise passengers should confirm which arrangements apply to their itinerary.

October is a transitional month across Southeast Asia, with warm temperatures and varying rainfall. Northern Vietnam, including Ha Long Bay, typically experiences more comfortable autumn weather, while central Vietnam around Da Nang can experience heavy rain. Thailand remains warm and humid, with occasional tropical showers. Golfers should pack lightweight clothing, sun protection and waterproof layers.

Vietnam is an increasingly popular destination for golf vacations, combining championship courses with dramatic coastal landscapes and cultural attractions. Golfers can experience a variety of course designs, from tropical parkland layouts to seaside links-style courses. Destinations such as Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City also offer opportunities for sightseeing and exploring Vietnamese food and culture.

Many golf courses in Vietnam and Thailand accommodate a range of abilities, although difficulty varies by course. Championship layouts such as Hoiana Shores and Siam Country Club can challenge experienced golfers, while different tee positions can make some courses more accessible to less experienced players. Golfers should check individual course requirements and choose tees appropriate to their ability.

Caddies are common at many golf courses in Vietnam and Thailand, and some clubs require golfers to use them. They can provide local course knowledge, help with club selection and offer advice on unfamiliar layouts. Caddie arrangements, fees and gratuities vary by venue, so guests should confirm what is included in their golf package before travelling.

Yes, golfers can travel with their own clubs, although airlines may apply specific baggage allowances, size restrictions or additional charges. A protective golf travel bag is recommended for international flights. During the cruise, Premier Golf provides golf club storage, porterage and private transfers to the scheduled golf courses, making it easier to travel between the ship and each round.

Most championship golf courses in Vietnam and Thailand have dress codes requiring collared golf shirts, appropriate golf shorts or trousers and golf shoes. Denim, swimwear and casual athletic clothing may not be permitted. Given the warm, humid climate, lightweight and breathable golf clothing is recommended, along with a hat, sunscreen and waterproof jacket.
